This is a great event that we are asking our followers to support….

Carrickfergus & District Senior Gateway Club will host the first N.Irelands Learning Disability Pride Day on 27th May 2017.

Carrickfergus & District Senior Gateway Club was formed 45 years ago, we meet weekly in the YMCA, 30 – 34 Irish Quarter West, Carrickfergus. We presently have membership of approximately 85 members, with a weekly turn out of 70/80. Our volunteers would number around 25 and we are one of the largest clubs in the province. We have a Management Committee which meets monthly, but the “spade work” is carried out on our Wednesday night meetings, which are eagerly awaited by our members.

On Wednesday nights we have outings for the members to participate in. We go to Brewers Fayre, a well known local restaurant where the members can relax, socialize and have a nice warm drink at no extra cost! The members also enjoy getting involved in Arts and Craft, Games, Karaoke, Knitting and much more all of these are made available for them every Wednesday night!

Throughout the year we hold numerous competitions, conferences, displays, fundraising events and an elegant Christmas Dinner at the end of each year for everyone to enjoy! It is good to keep everyone on the move to keep the club thriving!

Gateway represents the open gate to all that is good, and the right belongs to those with a Learning Disability.
