He was a journalist before he published the award winning Divorcing Jack in 1995, which he has followed up with a string of best sellers, including Empire State, I Predict A Riot and Orpheus Rising.

He also wrote the screenplays for the films of Divorcing Jack, Crossmaheart and Wild About Harry.

For TV Colin created the long running series Murphy’s Law starring Ulster actor Jimmy Nesbitt, as well as an adaptation of Marian Keyes’ best selling novel Water Melon.

Colin went in front of the cameras himself to present, Bateman on Bangor, an acclaimed documentary about his home town and how his experiences growing up there turned him into the writer he is today.

He continues to perform highly popular readings of his work at home and abroad, including London and Paris.
