Gene Fitzpatrick. One of Ireland’s best loved and most highly respected performers; Gene Fitzpatrick has become a household name with a string of album successes and a reputation as one of the funniest comedians in the country.
Famed for his unique style and delivery, Gene’s wonderfully warm personality and practiced ability to bring his audience into the act has gained him a devoted fan base of all ages.
In recent years, Gene Fitzpatrick has re-invented himself – Clubland is in the past and the corporate sector is now where you will find him.
His impressive corporate contacts include annual trips to the world famous Turnberry Golf Club to entertain on many of their client days. In the previous 12 months entertaining international guests at Royal County Down Golf Club for the Walker Cup was a treasured moment when the famous Links hosted the cup and Gene was asked to compere the evening and give the guests the best of clean Irish humour.
Gene’s after dinner shows now take place not only in Ireland but in England, Scotland and Wales where he is often seen speaking at conferences for Rotary and the Chartered Institutes of Accountancy and Building. He also recently had the pleasure of compering shows with the legendary Chris de Burgh and Tony Christie.
Gene is a typical Gemini in that he is always on the go, every morning a five-mile walk, whatever the weather, and golf and swimming three times a week – not at the same time, mind you!
Life for Gene is always the same, ask how he is and he will tell you “better than brilliant”.
Gene was born in Banbridge and still lives there.
Although Gene is now in his sixties, keeping fit and acting like a 43-year-old keeps him in tip top form to enjoy his beloved grandson Liam.
