Together with his talented band, he has carved out a significant niche in show business that finds him busier than ever. Hugo and his band are not only a leading attraction on the dancing circuit but are very much in demand for concerts and cabaret shows. They also tour extensively in England and Scotland and have made regular safaris to the Continent where Hugo’s brand of music, song and craic invariably proves a winner.

Hugo joined Radio Foyle during the 1980s doing holiday relief, after which he was offered a job presenting his own show on a weekly basis, this in turn, led to his still popular Sunday afternoon show which he continues to do.

In 1998 he was given the opportunity to present Country Afternoon – a daily programme on BBC Radio Ulster – and in recent years his hugely popular show has consistently earned top ratings.

Hugo was born and still lives in Strabane, his hobbies are cars and country music.
