Kate-SmithKate Smith is one of Northern Ireland’s best known TV presenters. She began her broadcasting career at Downtown Radio as a newsreader and reporter before moving to UTV in 1983 as a reporter on Good Evening Ulster.

Kate became the main presenter of UTV’s Six Tonight, evening news programme, in 1987 and went on to become one of the main news presenters on UTV Live in 1993. She hosted her last edition of UTV Live in December 2006.

Kate has since trained as a Life and Business Coach and has recently set up her own business enabling individuals and companies realise their full potential.

She is also a Member of the Board of Northern Ireland Screen, formerly the Film and Television Commission.

Kate was born in Co Fermanagh and now lives in Belfast with her husband, top chef and restauranteur, Michael Deane and their son Marco.

Her hobbies include movies, golf, tennis, current affairs, food and homemaking.
