Lynda Bryans is undoubtedly one of Northern Ireland’s best known, most popular and versatile broadcasters. Her credits cover local and network television and radio for both the BBC and ITV. She is a life coach, and with a sprinkling of Irish wit and charm, she is also an engaging public speaker at conferences and seminars; an awards compere and host for gala events.
Her broadcasting career has taken her across the world, notably to New York in the aftermath of 9/11 and to various exotic locations for the BBC’s Holiday Programme.
Lynda has a particular interest in promoting good mental health and represents a number of voluntary groups and charities. Lynda recounts openly and honestly how depression has affected her personally and professionally. She is a director of Youth Lyric, one of Ireland’s largest arts organisations.
For many years, Lynda anchored the main teatime local news on Channel 3 (UTV Live) Monday to Friday, which at that time consistently outperformed its main BBC rival.
Outside of work, Lynda enjoys spending time with her husband Michael and their two teenage sons. She likes to relax by gardening, cooking, keeping hens and fly fishing.
