Thomas Magill

As an accomplished journalist, presenter and reporter, Thomas Magill has been bringing his unique style to broadcasting on TV and radio for the last 15 years.

After cutting his teeth as the breakfast reporter at BBC Essex, Thomas moved to BBC News in London 7 years ago. These days he is one of the main anchor presenters on the daily award winning BBC London news bulletin.

Thomas has also presented for the current affairs programme 'Inside Out' and fronted various documentaries for BBC 1 including a school series in collaboration with the Open University.

As well as presenting on TV and radio, Thomas regularly writes about the arts and theatre and his reviews feature in the British Theatre Guide, South London Press, Ham &High, Irish Post and the Irish News. As a qualified Town Planner Thomas started his career writing for the business to business magazine 'Planning'. And still maintains a keen interest in the built environment, planning and the architecture sectors.

He is an experienced host and MC, fronting both large and small scale events and has hosted the Essex Food and Drink awards several years in a row. He has also hosted the Metropolitan Police ParliOut LGBTQ+ conference.

Away from work, Thomas splits his time between his beloved family home in Larne on the Antrim coast and London.
